TAXONOMIC COVERAGE:
Organisms studied Eriophorum vaginatum

Methods:The flowering data consisted of counts of Eriophorum inflorescences in each of six permanent 2x2m plots (except at Pump 4, Galbraith, Kuparuk River, and Kuparuk Ridge, where there were 10 plots each). The counts included inflorescences that had been clipped by ptarmigan but were still recognizable by their elongated culms. Counts were made in late May or early June of each year, after all of the current year's flowering culms had begun elongation but before maturation of the inflorescences. In 1980-1982, we also counted tussocks on each plot. Most of the plots are undisturbed but some are treated plots (see treatment code). See (Shaver, et al, 1986)
Notes and Comments: See below for terrestrial site codes.
12Jun2006 Gus Shaver used ausing a Garmin eTrex Visa for locations for : NO NAME CK, KANUTI, GOBBLERS, GRAYLING, MACS LAKE, COLDFOOT, SNOWDEN, TIMBERLINE, CHANDALAR, ATIGUN CP, PUMP 4, GALBRAITH, MS 117, TOOLIK 78, KUPARUK, DUST SITE, MS 119 DRY, MS121, SAG RIVER, HAPPY VALL, MS 127.

IMPORTANT: Some previous data had been entered incorrectly. This data has been entered correctly. See the file sitedir.doc for complete details.

The above is a list of the geographic orientation of Rep #1 for all the 1980 E. vag plots for the years 1980-1993 as
the data was entered into the computer. "NA" indicates that there was no data collected from that site that year. For
1992 and 1993 the field data was entered into the computer such that Rep #1 corresponded to the geographic orientation
listed in the final column, "Chosen-93". If a site direction is listed as "unk" then the orientation of that site was
not recorded in the original field data and the Rep numbering assigned at the time of data collection is assumed correct.
