Organisms studied

Methods:	Water samples were collected with a pump. A single, integrated water sample was collected by raising the pump at a steady rate from a depth of 5 m to the surface. The integrated water sample was homogenized in a plastic bottle. Aliquots of the mixed sample were filtered through 47 mm diameter glass fiber filters. Filters were dried. Carbon and nitrogen were measured by combustion of filters in a Perkin Elmer CHN elemental analyzer. Phosphorus was measured by colorimetric analyses after extraction of phosphorus from filter with hot hydrochloric acid. Notes: These data were collected as reference samples for the limnocorral fertilization experiments. Method of collection was different from 1983 samples in that a single integrated water sample was collected. Sampling depth of 1.0 m indicated in data file does not indicate actual sampling depth.
