| Methods: |
A rock-scrubbing technique was used to collect bottom samples at eight different stations (-500m, -400m, -100m, 320m, 740m, 1k, 2k, and 3k) with three replicates at each station in the Kuparuk River. The stations are measured relative to the 1984 phosphorus dripper. One sampling date is represented here (14 July 1989). (This is the first date analyzed, others are top priority at time of this submission.) The samples were preserved in ethanol then picked, sorted, counted, and measured in Duluth using a NIKON MICRO-PLAN II digitizing pad. Notes: Only six of the eight stations at this date were analyzed because of time constraints. The two recovery stations (320m and 740m) will be done soon (along with all other samples for the Kuparuk and the Oksrukuyuk rivers).
