Biweekly water samples collected at designated sites along the Kuparuk river were analyzed for soluble reactive phosphate, ammonium, and nitrate/nitrite on the Technicon Autoanalyzer II. Technicon methods were used. Each run was calibrated with 4 standards and a blank for every sample tray. For much of the season, ammonium samples were also run by manual chemistry using an adaptation from Standard Methods, 1985. Notes: This year, the Kuparuk was not sampled as intensively as in previous summers. Rather than taking entire transects of the study reach, weekly samples were primarily taken at the station at +0.564 km, located just upstream of the phosphorus dripper. Two full transects were taken, the first on July 15 and the second on August 5. Reference Citations: R.G. Wetzel & G.E. Likens. 1979. Limnological Methods. Saunders. Philadelphia. APHA. 1985.
