Photos: Ob River

Most of these photos were taken on our preliminary sampling trips during summer 2003. Sampling began on the Yukon River and then progressed to the Mackenzie, Ob', Yenisey, Lena, and Kolyma rivers. (Note: To view a larger version of any photo, click-on the image.)

Now to the Ob' River. The Ob' River watershed covers an area 1.7 times larger than Alaska, or 4.3 times larger than Texas.

We took a train from Moscow to Salekhard (on the Ob' River), a 48 hour trip. This shot was taken at the Moscow train station, as our supplies were being loaded.
