EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN AND METHODS:

Samples were taken approximately once per month, year-round. Temperature was measured using a Hydrolab H2O probe or a field thermometer. Approximately 10 liters of water were collected in an HDPE carboy. The water was then filtered through a GFF filter within 12 hours of collection, and water samples and filters were preserved for later analysis of dissolved materials. For details on analytical procedures, see ANALYTICAL METHODS.
