Professional Experience:

Research Associate at The Ecosystems Center, Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, Massachusetts.. Explored the role of terrestrial ecosystems on global biogeochemistry and how human activities may be changing the interactions of the terrestrial biosphere with the atmosphere and the hydrosphere using the Terrestrial Ecosystem Model and the MIT Integrated Global Systems Model. (October, 2000 - present).

Research Assistant at The Ecosystems Center, Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, Massachusetts. Assisted development of the Terrestrial Ecosystem Model (TEM). Organized and managed geo-referenced data bases. Developed computer programs to facilitate entry and management of trace gas emission data. Assisted sampling of the trace gases: CO2, N2O, CH4, COS and CS2 (June, 1987 - October, 2000).

Graduate Research and Teaching Assistant at the Flathead Lake Biological Station, University of Montana, Polson, Montana. Used in situ benthic chambers to study the influence of kraft mill effluent on riffle community metabolism of the Clark Fork River. Assisted in field sampling and data analyses for studies of shoreline erosion, nutrient addition experiments, structure of benthic macroinvertebrate communities, and water quality of local lakes and rivers. Assisted in courses of Systems Ecology and Plant Ecology (September, 1984 to May, 1987)

Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of Montana, Missoula, Montana. Taught introductory courses in mathematics (September, 1982 to June, 1984).
