BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DATA FILE: YSI probe and ADCP deployment at the confluence of Nelson Creek during 3 Sep 2003 to 7 Sep 2003 corresponding with the fall equinox period of equal daylight and darkness.

EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN AND METHODS:  Measurements taken with a YSI water quality sonde with internal datalogging capabilities deployed at a fixed station in mid-channel, approximately 10cm above the creek bottom.  Sonde was programmed to collect data for temperature, conductivity, and dissolved oxygen every 10 minutes.  Depth was not enabled during this deployment.  Data collection began at low tide (around dusk) and continued to monitor water quality for the next 24 hours.  ADCP (acoustic dopler current profiler) was deployed alongside the YSI probe to monitor current velocity and depth.  YSI deployment for Nelson Creek from 9/26/03 to 9/28/03 during the period of metabolism water sample collection was unsuccesful due to a software error in sonde AB.  Nutrient samples were collected but no YSI data is available.  To make up for the lost data an additional deployment occurred 10/03/03 to 10/07/03 using sonde AA.  Depth was not enabled but the ADCP unit was deployed alongside the YSI (secured to the ADCP rack).  Data from the water nutrient collection is available in file CH-NE-met nut-2003.xls.
